Yes, Amazon has announced the Kindle for sale in the UK. You can order yours now, and at these prices you’d be mad not to.
There are two versions of the UK KIndle – one with Wifi, and one with 3G.
The Wifi Kindle can, as the name suggests, use only Wifi for downloading books, magazines and other reading matter. The 3G version can use Wifi as well as 3G, so wherever you can get a 3G signal in the UK, you can download your Kindle ebooks.
And of course on both versions you can read your ebooks to your heart’s content without being connected either to Wifi or 3G – the connection is purely for downloading new material.
And as with other ebook readers, you can also load ebooks straight from your computer via USB cable.
And the prices? Only £109 for the Wifi Kindle, £149 for the Wifi and 3G Kindle. Both with the same great Kindle screen and facilities.
Check them out now on the link below – how can you go wrong?

Sony PRS600 ereader – exclusive red ebook reader

Sony’s latest touch-sensitive ebook reader (or the Sony ereader as many people call it) is quite rightly the most popular ebook reader around today.
Its 6 inch eink screen is second to none in readability, the touch function lets you turn a page with a flick of your finger, just like with a real book, and yet it takes up less space than a very thin paperback book and can fit in your pocket. And of course the Sony PRS600 can hold literally hundreds of books – extend that to thousands when you plug in the optional SD card. That’s the same SD card you use in your digital camera, costing only a few pounds for 4 Gigabytes of storage. And since a single ebook takes up on average 300 Megabytes, then you’re talking about carrying around with you over 13,000 ebooks. Yes, 13,000 ebooks on a single SD card. Yours, to take with you and read absolutely anywhere.
The touch sensitive function means that this Sony ereader isn’t covered with unsightly buttons and switches – you do it all by touching the screen, and it’s generally agreed that the PRS600 is Sony’s best to date.
It’s available in Black and Silver, of course, but now you can get an exclusive RED model which really shows off the style. Not many people will even know about the red ebook reader, let alone own one, so now’s your chance to be stylish and to be different.
Compare the black ereader, the silver ereader and the red ereader, then buy the red one. We did.

Sony PRS300 and PRS600 ereaders

Sony has discontinued its famous PRS505 ebook reader but its replacements are little crackers!
Sony has issued two new models of ereader – the PRS600 which is a direct replacement for the 505, and the PRS300 which is a more compact pocket version ebook reader.
You can buy the PRS 600 ebook reader in silver, a stunning red or a discreet black, and the PRS300 ebook reader in silver or a nice shade of pink.
PRS600 uses the same great eink display as the old PRS505, but with the benefit of a touch-sensitive layer so you can take notes or turn the page with a flick of the finger.
Amazon Kindle versus Sony PRS 505 ebook reader – which is right for you?

Well it’s happened at last! The Amazon Kindle is available here in the UK . Or rather the Amazon Kindle is now being shipped to the UK by Amazon is the USA to be precise. The press and TV are full of it, but is the Kindle the right ebook reader for you?
In fact Amazon in the UK are not selling the Kindle ebook reader. But Amazon in the USA will sell you a Kindle for $279 plus shipping and send it to you from the USA.
We thought it would be a good idea now to compare the Kindle with the UK’s best selling ebook reader, the Sony PRS 505 which is now available via our site for only £149 including delivery. Check out the comparison and let us know what you think.
1. Price – in today’s credit crunch Britain, price and value for money matter. And the Sony ebook reader is a lot cheaper than the Kindle at the current exchange rate, and the great price includes delivery. £149 all inc versus $279 plus shipping.
2. Availability – the Sonyebook reader is shipped from one of the UK’s leading retailers. The Kindle is sent from America, so will take longer to get here. So if you want it fast, it’s the Sony ebook reader for you.
3. Looks - we’re not alone in finding the Kindle unattractive. It’s cheap plasticky look and mass of buttons on the front were fine when the Kindle pioneered ebook readers and you expected it to look like an electronic gadget. But compare it with the Sony PRS 505 with its solid, rugged construction, smaller size and clean lines. And the Sony reader is available in a stylish red or sharp silver finish. This is down to personal taste. Which ebook reader would you rather own?
4. Wifi. If you want your ebooks delivered by wifi straight to your ebook reader, then there’s no contest. Only the Amazon can do it. But whether this matters depends on how you use the reader.
Most people download a few tens or hundreds of ebooks from the net on to their PC and then load them onto the reader via USB, or by SD card. Buying books on the spur of the moment when you’ve got your reader handy but not your computer doesn’t come into it. But if you do want that option, then you can buy ebooks direct from Amazon in the US using the wifi connection on your Kindle. With the Sony ebook reader, you download them to your computer and then copy them across.
Note that with the Kindle you are limited to Amazon for buying your books wirelessly. With the Sony reader you can buy them from any merchant as you wish. We don’t think wifi matters, but you might do.
So there you have it, if you need wifi, and can afford it, then get the Kindle. If you don’t need wifi, then you’ll be better off with the Sony.
Check out thethe Amazon site yourself on the link below.
then have a look at the Sony reader. See what you think and let us know. But remember, demand for the Sony reader is high at this price.

Protect your ebook reader screen with a screen protector

How many times have you accidentally caught the screen of your iPod, MP3 player or netbook with something you were holding and left a little mark? And you told yourself you wouldn’t see the mark. And you did see it. Every time you used the device.
Now since you’ll spend a lot more hours at the screen of your new red ebook reader than you ever will at any other electronic gadget, you’ll realise that it’s so much more important to protect the screen of your ebook reader.
An ebook reader screen is pretty tough, but if you’re like me, then the slightest mark on a screen gets on your nerves and it makes sense for only a few pounds to protect it from those accidental marks and little scratches.
This great little ebook screen protector costs under a tenner and is sold specifically for the Sony ebook reader, but will fit exactly the same on any of the 6 inch screen readers – the Elonex, Cybook, Borders or Bebook as they all use identical screens.
And this ebook screen protector isn’t sticky, so if it gets marked you just peel it off leaving no nasty residue on your ebook screen, and pop another screen protector on. It’s as quick and simple as that.
You’ve paid almost £150 for your Sony red ebook reader – or even your Sony silver ebook reader (if it cost more, you didn’t buy it via this site) so why not invest in a few pounds more to protect it. Have a look at this great little screen protector – click the link below to find out more.
